This was used to hang a baby hammock (jhoola / thooli) from the ceiling. Make sure you drill a pilot hole, or you will end up stripping the screw head. This was installed 2 months ago, and has not budged with everyday use. The swivel at the end is much needed for the hammock to swing in every direction, without putting any tension on the ceiling hook.
Instructions to hang a jhoola / thooli from the ceiling:
1. Locate a rafter (hidden wooden beam) in the ceiling using a stud finder, keeping in the mind the area that will swept by the hammock when swinging.
2. The rafter may not be wide enough, to accommodate all four screws. Install the ceiling hook with the longer side of the diamond along the rafter.
3. Drive the shorter side screws at a 45 degree angle, if you unable to hit the rafter when driving vertically.
I ordered this item initially because my son’s sensory swing needed it in order to be installed the way I wanted. This was a quarter of the cost of what that company wanted to charge me for the exact same thing. I was impressed by the heavy duty nature of the product and would buy it again.
Seems to work. I bought these because they were slightly cheaper than another brand on Amazon which I had. Turns out they are also slightly smaller. That said, they are similarly rated and do the job very well.
Bought grade 5 screws in Home Depot since those are too short to hold my hammock.
