Great chairs, unfortunately the overhead spot I thought would support these, won't. Leaves me in a pickle. One thing I can tell you from past experience is you want an excellent mounting surface. If these chairs fall while you're sitting in them, you'll land very hard on your rear end, and I'm betting could damage your spine or a disc.
Saw this swinging chair at my Sister-in-law's home and had to have one after sitting in it. Sooo comfortable. Love the can/bottle holder as well as being able to kick my feet up while watching my football games! It's so easy to build, I did it myself in minutes! Solid wood poles are awesome and hold up well. Happy, Happy, Happy!
Sweet swing! Just make sure to mount it well as once the kids start rocking around, can loosen ceiling posts if you don't attach to a good anchor point.
The chair is just as described. Very comfortable, but know it is not meant for swinging, just gentle rocking. Also, the instructions are very poor and hard to follow, as are most assembly instructions from outside the US. I have had one of these before and this one is just as nice.
I've only used this a couple times since hanging it. So far, it meets my expectations for the price.
The finish on the dowels isn't great. I got a splinter just from pulling them out of the package. I'm guessing the finish won't last very long in the weather, either. One of the armrest dowels has a really wide crack lengthwise about 10 inches long. There is varnish in the crack so I know it was already there during manufacturing. The crack doesn't appear to affect the strength or functionality, but does make\ me wonder about quality control. I kind of expect to replace wood every couple years due to the Arizona sun, so the issues I see with them don't bother me that much. Others might be less tolerant.
The material appears to be strong and I like the bright red color. I checked the seams for any parts that weren't sewn correctly and didn't find anything. All for corners of the main chair have a 3-inch long piece of thread that connects two different stitching points. It might snag and get broken and if it does, I'm not sure if it the stitching will unravel or not.
I like that the rope is black since black plastics tend to last much longer in intense sunlight.
I like the carry/storage bag that comes with it. It's made of the same material and same color and everything fits without a lot of work trying to stuff it in the bag.
The instructions are fairly basic. It's not difficult at all, but some people will no doubt have trouble figuring out how to tie the two knots correctly (one for the main chair and one for the footrest). They really should provide a diagram just for that, because I can see people doing it wrong and ending up on the ground after sitting down.

Description
Sunnydaze Decor Deluxe Hanging Hammock Air Chair with Pillow and Drink Holder, Solid Wood Bars, Blue, 24 Inch
I really love this chair - its the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in! I have a few health issues & sitting can be painful. Because it's suspended & made of canvas, the chair has no hard places. It conforms to the body & eliminates pressure on painful spots.
We hung the chair on our screened porch. We have no neighbors & now have a rotating view of our woods & flower beds - simply awesome. I have hummingbird & oriole feeders hanging from our porch, & hanging the chairs about 3' from the floor gives us an up close view of these beauties. So, we ended up buying a second chair so we could hang out together for morning coffee, watching video on the iPad, reading, catnaps...but it's the best for relaxing & doing nothing at all.
As far as quality, the stitching job was mostly ok but poor in some spots. The first chair I ordered had hanging threads all over. The third time he sat in his chair, the stitching on one of the front corners where the arm & seat meet tore in 2 places. My husband weighs 168 & I weigh 130, so it's not an excessive weight issue. I own a sewing machine & will be able to fix it after buying larger needles, but I shouldn't have to do that.
Some were wondering about the need for a spring. Yes, you definitely want to use a spring. I tried it without it - comfort is far improved with; movements without the spring are jerky & hard. The spring acts like a shock absorber, making movement more comfortable.
All in all we love these chairs but do wish they were better quality tho I think they will still last for years.
Still hanging in there. After reading some of the headlines, I was cautious with the installation. I recommend following on-line the knot tying for swings to make sure there is no slip.
We use it every day on our porch, but some of the ropes were a little frayed, so we trimmed those to make sure it did not unravel
Gift- she loved it
It's was pretty fast shipping, description was on point and set up was easy. Overall ok. A few of the bars seemed cracked. So we will have to seal them since they are a outside chair. And treat the fabric. We installed and took a photo but have not really 'used' them yet. So I can't comment on comfort or strength. And this is why I only gave 4 stars because there is stuff that still needs to be done and tested.
My only issue was there were no instructions. I had to get back on Amazon and scroll thru pictures of the sunnydaze hanging hammock for the instructions.
