Installed this yesterday and it seems like a decent product, except... I would not use the provided screws, and it did not include washers to put under the head of the lag bolts.
The included screws seemed to be a bit short considering that the screw needed to pass through the metal plate, and 3/4 inch of drywall and construction adhesive before it hits the wood beam in the ceiling. Also, there is not much metal contact under the head of the provided bolts, so I was concerned about this. Therefore, I suggest that you go to Home Depot or Lowes, get two lag bolts that are the 1/4inch diameter and 3-1/2 long. Also, you should get two 1/4inch washers. See my pic for the completed setup.
The rest of this product seems to be good. the spring has a lot of strength. I cannot see it stretch when someone sits in the chair. The swivel swivels nicely and does not bind under a load, so ropes on the chair never twist. The carabiner appears to be just as strong. At this point, I figure that the weakest point is the welds that hold the u-bend to the mounting plate, but assuming it is designed to 500lb, I think it will hold up just fine.
The included instructions appear to be an un-edited translation from an Asian language to English, so they are difficult to understand and do not make sense. But I expect that anyone buying this would not need the directions anyway, so I'm not sure why the manufacturer went to the trouble of including it.
Seems like good hardware. We haven't been able to put it up yet because we assumed it would be long enough to hang from the ceiling, but it's not so we need to buy some additional chain. We plan to hang a hammock chair for our kids to read in.
