The small headrest pillow is removable if you do not want it on there. This will recline in any position you want all the way to laying back fully. Once you have it adjusted in the position you want, there are 2 small clamps on the sides that you just turn so the position locks into place. Unlock to readjust. There is also a large plastic cup holder that can be attached onto the right side of it. It just slides on and locks into place and can be removed if you don't want it attached.
The seat and back material is thick and feels like it would be waterproof to a certain extent. The arm rests have a wood look to them. This chair is quite heavy. I was surprised with the weight of it. It does fold down like a normal lawn chair but in my opinion, it's quite heavy to tote around with you to take to like sporting events and such. I personally would leave it on your patio or wherever you are setting it up. It would however be a nice chair to take to the beach if you were spending the day.
This is very comfortable to sit or lay in. The way it's designed and your body lays in it does not make your body ache. I have back issues and I was comfortable laying in this for a few hours no problem. I am very pleased with this Zero Gravity Chair and would highly recommend it.
The Timer Ridge chair is probably one of the most comfortable chairs that I have sat in. The material used in the chair is sturdy but it's not real rough like some other chairs like this one. This chair also has a padding material in between two layers making the seating area about a half inch thick or so. The locks that are used to lock the chair into positions are easy to use and lock easily. Some get tough to lock but these are designed perfect for your fingers to grab. The arm rest on this chair feels so good on my arms being made of wood, and it is contoured to the shape if your arm so that it's ergonomically designed. The adjustable pillow head rest is just using an elastic band, but holds it in place perfectly and isn't so thick that it gives you a sore neck. I'm an average size person and this is better fitting for me than my other chair I bought for camping. This chair is a little on the heavy side, but that's due to the good construction of the chair so I don't mind that at all. There are plastic pieces on the bottom of the chair that help stop it from sliding around on the deck. The chair when reclined is almost completely reclined which is very comfortable when just wanted to sit in your yard and take a nap or sunbath. When it comes to reclining the chair it is very easy if you recline properly. Don't use just your arms to put the chair back, lean back as you recline and it's easy easy. As the chair reclines and comes back to the upright position it operates smoothly with no binding. The chair even comes with a removable cup holder, and what's better is the cup holder has a slot so if your cup has a handle it will fit in it nicely. I don't leave any of my outdoor products in the sun or rain so I can't tell you how fade resistant the material is, but again the material is soft but durable with good stitching. I would buy another one of these chairs to use when I go camping, and another one for home.
I have never sat in a more comfortable chair! When I first took it out of the box, it was a little on the heavy side, so I knew it was going to be strong, sturdy, and well built. I noticed right away how pretty it was with the wooden arm rests. It has a cushiony seat due to the bungee suspension. When it reclines back, it really does feel like “Zero Gravity!” I could probably fall to sleep in it if I had a warm blanket (there is a pillow included, by the way). I was originally thinking this would make a great addition to my patio, but now that I have it, I think I want to keep it in my living room. When my brother came over, I couldn’t get him out of it. He wants one to put in his hanger at the airport. His birthday is coming up, so I think I know what I’m going to get him!
Despite having a good number of lawn and patio chairs, I haven’t owned an outdoor reclining chair in years though I’ve been wanting one. I have had good luck with the Timber Ridge brand in the past so I decided to see what they offered in this category. I have some rare downtime scheduled this summer (lucky me) and plan on taking in some rays in my backyard as much as possible.
I chose the oversized chair for two reasons: One, I’m always thinking of the larger people in my life and in all honesty, I try to lure my dad down for more visits by having comfortable pieces of furniture and places for him to relax; and Two, for some reason my children are either always fighting over who gets to sit in the cool chairs, or they are fighting to sit with me. This chair allows for either my two children to share, or one to sit comfortably with me. Problem solved!
Okay, so the chair itself is huge. It’s not something you’d just casually toss in the back of your car then carry a long distance for a picnic or something. It folds up nicely and doesn’t take up a lot of space, but it is kinda heavy. That’s also why it’s so sturdy. This thing doesn’t wobble and the legs don’t shift when you’re sitting in it - it’s really a solidly constructed chair. Once you figure out how to lock your position in place (there are knobs on the sides of the armrests), you can literally just set it and forget it. That is also the time I pretend I’m on a tropical island and that the distant voices of children incessantly yelling, “Mom! Mom!” are merely seagulls, just looking for some food.
So back to reality… The brown and blue colors are really pretty and gender-neutral. The grommets and “lacing” (for lack of a better term?) seem really secure, too. One of my favorite features of this chair is kinda weird, but just go with it: the pillow. The pillow is adjustable so it can move up and down so even the shorter members of my family can find a good fit. Or you can slide it under your lower back for added support. You can also just pull the pillow completely off the chair. I am just under six-feet-tall and I love how my entire body can basically be contained in this thing. No more bottom bar digging into the back of my knees or calves. I am really happy with my purchase. Now, if I could just get those seagulls to pipe down...
First about the OLD Timber Ridge XL Zero Gravity Chair I got from a friend. The frame of the old, beat up chair is super heavy duty & rather cumbersome, but looks & feels indestructible. (It probably is!) The padding is a couple of inches thick--very spongy. The zero gravity design is extremely comfortable for me & tips back enough to take the pressure off the back & relieve aching feet. Now for the NEW chair: the frame's tubing is smaller but still sturdy. It is less cumbersome & slightly easier to unfold, but still a bit tricky. The wooden arms are curved & fairly comfortable. BUT: the padding is not thick at all, so there's not the cushy feel I'm used to. Most disappointing is that the zero gravity design feels different. I don't get the same lovely floating-in-air feeling I got in the old chair. I'm going to keep this new one & hope that I find it more comfortable as time passes. Overall quality is very good.

I'm not an occasional user. This chair is in my studio and I'm in it daily. I had the regular timber ridge for 5 or 6 years but after continuous use one of the bolts gave way so I order the XL and glad I did. It's not that much bigger but much better made. The locking mechanism is much easier to operate and the extra width adds to the comfort. Bottom line is it's worth the higher price. One possible negative is the XL does not have the built in side table. Just a clip on cup holder. I never used it so don't care personally. Highly recommended.
Best. Chair. Ever. This chair exceeded my expectations by 100%. First off it is so comfy. The pillow is adjustable so no matter how tall or short it will work for you. My personal favorite part of the chair is how you can lock it in place. This means that even if you shift the chair won't budge an inch. It truly does give you a feeling of weightlessness. After a 16 mile run this chair was my savior - kept my feet elevated and felt like all my weight was off my sore muscles. . The material is connected to frame by bungee cords that provide a strong bond. As for the material - I spilled on it the first time I used it. The spill wiped away very easily. I plan to use the chair after long runs to keep my legs elevated along with taking it camping. It is easy to transport, fairly lightweight to carry.
We use this chair in the operation of our business that provides access to a neuro-stimulating hypnagogic light which stimulates the pineal gland (the 3rd eye). [...]
We provide the experience to clients reclining in a zero gravity chair and have been through a few different brands and types and have even had a couple others get bent with usage. This Timber Ridge XL is much sturdier, roomier, more attractive, and more comfortable than any we've purchased before.
We initially hesitated purchasing one because it was a little more expensive, but once we started using it, we recommended it to others doing similar work and we will be buying more.
Bought this for my husband and he loves it. It is well made as the canvas is heavy, the webbing it tight and strong and nice wood accents. I did find the cup hold a bit flimsy. My husband is 6'3" and I am 4'11" and we both find the chair comfortable, especially like the adjustable head pillow. Definitely recommend.
Seems well made and is very comfortable. Unfortunately, although it's stated as being oversized XL, my feet hang over the end about 4 or 5 inches if I fully stretch out on the chair. I'm 6'3".
