Classic Accessories Veranda Steamer Chaise Deck Chair Cover

Classic Accessories Veranda Steamer Chaise Deck Chair Cover

Classic Accessories Veranda Steamer Chaise Deck Chair Cover

Classic Accessories is quickly becoming my go to set of products for outdoor furniture covers. I now have a Grill cover, 2 chaise covers, 2 chair covers and 2 ottomon covers and looking at my outdoor sofa/love seat cover I suspect I'll have one of those by this time next year.

While I am reviewing this specific product my experience with the other covers in this line are very relevant as it is the same product line, same material and same company.

The covers are well constructed and sturdy. The warranty is also outstanding. Why do I mention the warranty? I've had to use it several times now. Why does that not cause me to give it a bad review? Simply put because there is no cover I have ever found that can handle sitting out side 365 days a year through summer heat, thunderstorms, snow, ice, sleet and high winds and not have wear and tear after a few years.

These covers have not only lasted longer than any other covers I've bought in the past, I've actually been able to get replacements for ones that had ripped or torn after years of exposure. The warranty process was incredibly simple, Fill out a form on-line, upload pictures and the new covers show up about a week later.

I would recommend these covers even without the warranty support, but the fact that I was able to get replacements just makes it that much better.

Pros:
- Look great
- Can be securely fastened
- Sturdy
- Great support from company

Cons:
- The lighter colored ones really show the dirt quickly.

We have at least a dozen of these Classic Accessories outdoor furniture covers from their various lines — Ravenna, Hickory and Verdana — and have been using them for the past 4-5 years, year-round, for the most part. They keep the furniture dry and protected and can be easily secured to the legs with click latches that keep them from blowing off in storms.

This large chaise lounge cover, fits with room to spare over our substantial, wheeled, wrought-iron chaise lounges.

These new versions of the Verdana covers seem very well-made, thicker than past incarnations with canvas handles, though I wish they were a different color to spot them more easily, like the Hickory line. The vents work, in that we’ve never had an issue with mildew under the covers, and they also keep the cushions very, very dry.

My only gripe is that they're not indestructible which, of course, is probably hoping for too much. To date, we've noted that three years is about the max life span for a Classic cover, with cracks or tears occurring after that even with careful care. I think it's just exposure to the weather and is basically inevitable. (NOTE: We live in the Southwest, where the sun is very intense, and it’s dry for months at a time.)

I blame the sun as much as the winter weather, because those covers that are left mostly on during the summer months, for outdoor furniture not used as often that is totally exposed, the life expectancy of the covers has been a year at most. Those under a little more protection, where the cover is mostly used only during winter months, have lasted up to three years. Your mileage may vary, but that's been our experience.

On the plus side, they’ve extended the warranty to a full three years, which is way beyond industry standard. We have had several Classic covers replaced under warranty in the past (those that lasted less than a year, when that was their standard warranty time), and the process was pretty painless. Emailed photos and proof of purchase, and Classic sent replacement covers promptly. Very easy to deal with, and prompt customer service is a huge plus in my book.

We actually previously bought a super-pricey (three figures) cover for our double chaise lounge from a company that offered a “lifetime” guarantee, and when it sustained sun damage cracks after less than a year, we contacted them and got the run around. They actually claimed the “lifetime” warranty didn’t cover damage from “weather,” which included sun damage. These are outdoor patio furniture covers, where/how did they think they’d be used?

Classic, by the way, has always accepted photos of the fading and cracks caused by sun, as cause for in-warranty replacement which is great, because I would agree that putting an outdoor furniture cover on outdoor furniture is using the product as designed.

So, despite the somewhat limited life we’ve experienced so far, I haven't found better covers, with better service, than the Classic brand in this price range, and now that their warranty is even longer, I’ll happily continue to purchase, and recommend, this brand.

I'm reordering these chaise lounge covers, because they have effectively covered my chairs in full for 3.5 years, and I found that particular shelf life to be satisfactory in relation to its relatively low price.

After 3.5 years of unrelenting exposure to the elements, these will suddenly tear open like paper. But that's not unreasonable, considering they withstood the full unshaded force of San Diego sunshine for close to a presidential term. No doubt they would've lasted far longer had I ever put the covered lounge chairs in a sheltered environment when not in use.

These covers form-fit a chaise lounge through a combination of zippers and ties. During torrential winds, they stayed intact and on the chairs. Never while out of town did I worry the chairs themselves would be exposed to damage, as they would have with precariously affixed covers that simply molded to the chair without methods in place to fully secure them. Ultimately, these chaise lounge covers are effective, and are attractive at this price point.

Update 3/10/17. With a simple warranty claim both covers were replaced within a weeks time. They simply need the information off the tag a receipt and picture of the issue. Amazing support and they truly stand by their product and warranty. Thank you, i will be ordering other products shortly.
Updated 2/20/17: After a year these covers are deteriorated, beginning to rip, and no longer repel water. I am hopeful the warranty is true to it's billing. Stay tuned....
Great product for a great price. March 2016

This cover can definitely do a Veranda day chair longer than 78". I have a set of Gloster reclining chaise, they are 81" long, and there is fabric to spare to do a longer chair. I would say these covers would easily do another 4", (Out to 85") and maybe up to 6" more in length. 78" is not a maximum here. I have a number of other covers in this Veranda family that I have used outdoors for the last two years. My patio overlooks the water in New England, and the Veranda table and chair covers I have held up well to our recent big winters , and do a good job of protecting my teak patio furniture. The cover material is heavy and can take some abuse (like knocking the ice off the cover), the ties are well made as are the draw strings. The color scheme blends well into my background, and the covers look good vs cheap. For $40, I don't think you can go wrong, and clearly they can accommodate longer chairs.

Ive been using this product for i think 2 or 3 years now year round and it is still holding up well. color has faded a bit but that is expected from the high heat and UV in the summer and bitter cold winters here in Canada. There is only one small rip that develped but it has not gotten any bigger. Id buy the product again when it is needed...............which i hope will be in many more years!!

Patio furniture still looks just as good as the day i purchased it so the cover has done its job.

This is great! Especially for steamer deck chair furniture. It fits like it was custom made. It slips right over with little effort. And it keeps the dust and dirt off the chair. It has a nice weight to it meaning it won't blow off in the wind easily. And if it does get super windy, it has a pull string to tighten as well as clips that you can snap around a leg to keep it on.

It slips off easily when you want to sit in the chair too. I would totally recommend this.
I've only had it a few months so I can't speak to how it will hold up through the winter rains, but for keeping furniture clean through the summer months, I love it.

I've had several of these covers over the years, but they all eventually get brittle and tend to rip. But this Brandis the best of all that I've tried and lasted several year longer than most of the others. It is also the best looking of them all. The fit is excellent and the draw string around the bottom secures the cover well; these do not blow off even in the strongest winds (have not tried them in a hurricane, though). If they wouldn't get brittle, I'd give them 5 stars!

Ordered this for my final piece of furniture to be protected. Unfortunately this thing is way too big. I knew it was going to be bigger than I needed, but was afraid the next size down was going to be too close to fit.
This was the sixth piece I bought. I could have bought this one then just stack the rest of the furniture and used this to cover them all😄.
Since it was my fault, I didn’t even bother to try and send it back. Looks like I’ll have to modify this one some how.

These covers are almost as beautiful as my new lounge chairs themselves. They are also made super well as they are quite thick and large enough to cover the entire chaise. They deflect the water, leaves, bugs, and everything else perfectly. In addition, the handles make it easy to remove and put the cover back on the chairs after use. They will match perfectly with gravel or concrete or other pieces of furniture. I will 100% be buying this brand/style of covers for any future piece of outdoor furniture I purchase.
