Update: I didn't bother tying these down until we expected a storm as they are heavy and stay put well. During storm prep, I realized that they are a little tricky since I have rocking chairs that have a round ring on the bottom instead of legs. I had to lift up the chairs to attached the straps. Not horrible, but a bit of a bother as the chairs aren't light. I should have thought of that. Actually, unless it's really a bad storm, the drawstrings will probably be enough as the covers fits pretty snuggly. It was quick and easy to fasten on the love seat that has legs. Good news: my chairs stayed dry even after an all day downpour. The love seat cover didn't do as well, but that's another review.
We just bought new patio furniture. It was expensive, for us, so we didn't want to put just any old ugly covers on them and we do have to protect them in all four seasons here. The weather ranges from high heat and humidity with thunderstorms in Spring and Summer to ice and snow in Winter. I did some research online and in local stores and decided on these. I bought them mainly for their durability and protection, but the bonus is that they look great too. They fit our Lazy Boy "Charlotte" chairs very well. The chairs measure 34H (at tallest point on back) X 26"W X 32"deep with a slope downward back to front. They go all the way to the ground on these chairs and fit perfectly side to side and back to front. Because these chairs have a rather sharp edge on to the top/back corners, I may put something over the edge when I put the covers on for Winter so it will be less likely to strain the corners.
They have vents front and back to avoid heat and humidity build up, and also to help them stay put on windy days. The material feels durable, but it is also flexible so it's fairly easy to fold and store.
On calm days I don't bother with the straps but use them in windy/stormy days. The straps are easy to use and secure. They have side-squeeze buckles and drawstrings as well.
I'm glad we paid a little more for nicer covers that protect and look good.
I will update this review to let you know how they survive the winter.
We'd had a few different outdoor covers over the years and these particular ones from Ravenna have held up the best. We wound up scoring an umbrella and a counch for a great price and that's how we were introuduced to the brand. Both held up over 2 years and while minimal fading was there (they do not look brand new anymore) there is no rips or tears or brittle weathered areas. They are waterproof (in that they have been in rain and the stuff under them did not get wet) and the only element they haven't been in is snow. Would highly recommend these over any other kind; including the Duck brand ones
Love the Ravenna product line. Well made. Heavy. Waterproof fabric (wish the seams were sealed). These are on chairs that measure slightly larger than the specs for the covers. They fit well. We are having a rainy year in CA (finally), and my chairs are staying nice and dry--no seams over the cushions.
For people who are finding water on their chairs in the morning. Dew can condense on both surfaces of a cover. You are seeing the dew on the underside. NOT leaks...
These are very nice, well made covers. Even though I brought my wicker chairs into the basement for the winter, I wanted them covered and protected. These might be more than I need, but I feel they will help keep the wicker like new. Not sure how they'd do outside in a harsh NE winter, even under a covered porch - but I expect well based on the quality. Good dark color, which is harder to find than you realize, to minimize dirt being seen.
Love these chair covers! We live in Central New York and have been having a rather rainy, cool, windy summer. These chair covers have kept our cushions completely dry. No worries of getting a wet bottom from the cushions when we can pull off the covers and enjoy the random sunny day. The covers are a really heavy sturdy material that repels the rain. The four straps that hold them in place are perfect for the wind. I can honest say that I do not use the straps everytime because these covers fit so well and are so heavy that it would take a pretty good wind to lift them off.

These covers are a very heavy duty fabric. They fit my chair perfectly and have velcro fasteners at the legs in addition to a drawstring to keep a tight cover. The charcoal greyish color is very stylish compared to most covers that come in beige or dark green. My climate is about 90-100 degrees in the summer. We get high winds and torrential rains a few times in the winter but it's not freezing. I am happy with the durability and look of this product.
I asked several question before buying this cover and based on those responses and reviews I decided to buy. So far I'd say it looks like the best cover I have ever bought. Strong material. strong and effective tie downs, air vents, handles. It is a very good value. I've spent much more for other covers and got much less quality. I would definitely buy this again.
The covers are fantastic period I would give them a five plus but the shipping was a problem in I ordered for chair covers in one size and three came correctly but the fourth was oversized into large for my chair period I have not had time to request a return but my wife it already put it on the chair outside and it rain the first day so I've hesitated on returning it period I also had a table cover in that order and it also was fantastic and was the correct item.
We just got these so I cannot speak to the problems others had of the straps breaking after a short period of time. The material appears sturdy and they cover my high backed swivel chairs well. There are plenty of straps to hold them onto the chairs firmly.
This is a very well made product. Ordering was somewhat confusing. Led to believe we were getting black covers. They are tan. Not interested in the trouble to return. This is why I buy on line. I don’t want a hassle.
