I have been looking for an outdoor rocking chair for several years. I saw the great reviews on this and decided to buy one to try it out. I just received it and finished putting it together. First of all, it is very heavy. I have to go up a flight of steps to get to my deck. I had to take it apart downstairs and bring it up a piece at a time. I had a little bit of a hard time putting it together. Don't even try with the stinking little tool that they give you. Use a power tool. After I got my drill and the proper bit, it went together fairly easily. As others have said, don't tighten everything until you're finished. There are rough spots here and there on the finish and some of the places look as if some of the finish has scraped off. There is not a chance I will return it because of the weight. It's a nice enough chair and it will suit my needs. Sits up up a little straighter than I would like. Update: I’ve had this chair for two years now and it still looks brand new. It’s been outside for two Northeast winters and has held up amazingly well. My only real complaint is that it isn’t very comfortable.
My husband is a big guy, 350 pounds, and the rocker works really well for him. We ordered the toffee color, and is very attractive. Thanks to all the reviewers who said do not tighten anything completely until you've finished so make sure the holes line up, that helped me a lot. If everything is lined up and the bolt is going straight into the hardware, it should easily hand tighten. If it's a bit off, don't force it, tweak the holes a bit and the bolt should easily hand tighten. Once you have all the bolts in, then go ahead and tighten it up with the Allen tool.
Well made, sturdy, looks good for poly. Good price compared to what others offer. Sits more upright and high. Ordered a second rocker later and it came with different rocker feet which made the rocker tilt uncomfortably forward when you sit in it and/or rock. These rocker feet are meant for another piece of furniture - possibly the rocker bench. Ordered replacement. Replacement arrived with same wrong rocker feet. Returning this one also. Photos of the differences attached. The feet with the more beveled look (first pic) are the wrong feet for this rocker.
This is a very comfy rocker that is both sturdy and stylish. It is well made and looks like it will be easy to no maintenance. It holds up to 500 lbs so you don't have to worry about it breaking anytime soon!
Big heavy duty chair. Went together OK, use 2 people and use a screw gun with hex bit instead of supplied Allen wrench. 4 stars because they don’t rock back as far as others. I also have their Adirondack Floding chairs that are great and beefy. Got the heavy duty rockers as my Big Ass Brother in Laws break normal chairs and lawn furniture.

Just received and I have to say it is amazing!! Took five mins to build and extremely sturdy and beautiful!! Highly recommend this chair!!
We bought 2 of these chairs for our back porch. They are a high quality, heavy and durable. They weren't too difficult to assemble, once we figured out what we were doing. We are very satisfied that they are maintenance free, but don't look like plastic. We did put a cushion on the seat to make them more comfortable to sit on. Very happy, would buy from Highwood again!
I purchased 2 of these rockers 3 years ago, and they still look as good as the day they arrived. They have been outside in the weather every day on an uncovered deck. These rockers are very solid, heavy pieces that hold up well to the rain, heat, and direct sunlight. Love them.
The rocker is expensive, but is built to last. I am 6'0" 260 pounds and this rocker is sound enough to take twice my weight.
It is easy to put together; only 4 pieces. I am happy that I bought this rocker
We love this rocker! Any ideas for cushions with a light yellow cottage style home?
