I decided to downsize from large, reclining sofas and recliners to individual chairs in the living room. While not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of interior decor, a combination of the seat height and arms on these allow my family members with mobility issues to stand more easily than trying to get out of a sofa or well-used recliner. Time will tell how durable they are, and they need something placed behind them to keep them away from the wall, but so far I am very impressed with both their comfort and practicality. Some of us like to use a gel seat pad, either on the seat or for lumbar support, while others find them comfortable "as is," so adding a little cushion is easy to do for those who prefer it. Reclining is particularly comfortable, for either a nap or relief of back muscles. The wider size allows the lap dog space to sit, which is a challenge with the normal width chairs.
When you first sit down, the flexible material responds to the contour of your body, which is a nice feature. The material has a woven look that is attractive, and durable as well. The chair will go on my patio come spring, however per instructions, I will store indoors or cover when not in use. The headrest can be adjusted to the right position for your head or used as lumbar support. Although it can be detached from the side, I use the large cup holder because it keeps my coffee cup securely in place. It would be perfect for the lawn, beach or tail gating at your favorite game because It is so portable and lightweight and adjusts easily to any level of recline. First, I made sure the chair was locked before sitting down. While sitting back, I pushed down firmly on both levers just under each arm rest and turned them completely backwards to unlock the chair. I placed my feet on the lower bar of the chair, and pressed down with my heels as I leaned back. This makes the chair recline. Then I just stopped it at my desired level by taking my feet off the bar, grasping the levers again, and pulling them completely forward to lock the lounger in place. When reclining, I felt a sense of weightlessness, and no strain. It is very relaxing.
I got this for my husband as a birthday gift as I’m all out of ideas and he’d expressed interest in the zero gravity chair. I knew nothing about them but settled on this one after reading many, many reviews for various brands and different price points and features. The Timber Ridge line in general had better reviews, and with one of these chairs, it seems you get what you pay for. This chair is very, very sturdy yet lightweight. My husband is 5’10 and 190 and this could easily handle a larger person. It’s padded which definitely makes a difference in the comfort and though there isn’t a specific, thick lumbar cushion, the padding gives some support there. The headrest moves up and down on channels which is a great feature for me as I have neck issues and can position it perfectly. The little slide out tray is very handy. The chair is very easy to sit in and put back in the reclining position and get back up out of. There are levers to easily lock your position in to place. Hubby loves the chair and it’s a great spot to nap in out on the deck in the shade. Definitely would not want one of these without padding and would not want a less sturdy model.
Excellent zero gravity chairs (we got two) - this is the brand that Costco has had in the past, and our friends have two of these, that several years later and lots of use at home and camping, are still in excellent shape. They have the padded fabric version, we wanted the lighter mesh fabric version and thankfully found them here at Amazon. These are much sturdier that some of the others, the "oversize" version is better for both of us who are tall, and they're easy to sit in, recline and return to sitting position. The attached side-table is really nice to have, and once you figure it out, easily folds up when packing up the chairs. BE WARNED, it's just so super easy to fall fast asleep in these when reclined... enjoy! ;)
The padding is not cushy, but is substantial and looks like it will last. The locks work nicely for securing a position after rotating (a problem on many zero gravity chairs). My mother’s only complaint is that the foot bar is a tripping hazard and she can’t comfortably get her footing when getting in and out of the chair without stepping on it - but I believe that is fairly common to these chairs. I would say that “extra long” probably applies to the torso - I have long legs and it feels pretty short to me. In general, though, the chair feels to be good quality and well-manufactured.

My La Fuma finally broke a weld after yrs and the La Fuma is $140-300 nowadays. all the others are knock-offs of La Fuma.
That said - I like the Timber Ridge better than my La Fuma. xl size feels great and I'm under six ft. the pop out tray is a great feature. Can't attest to durability since it is new, but time will tell. I replaced the la fuma elastic cords a couple times in 4 yrs and the weld just broke.
this model fully reclines like my la fuma. many cheap knock offs do not recline as far or not as ergonomic
Just arrived today and both hubby and I are in love with it. We already ordered another. Nice and big, but not too big for me at 5'4". Very sturdy compared to another we have which we are giving away. Already helps greatly with back pain. Lock a little hard to move, but no big deal. Recommend over the cheaper ones which are a pain to use.
Good for after some surgeries that require keeping feet higher than head. Wish we had one after his open heart surgery.
We are even taking this on vacation this summer.
This is an addition to my earlier review below: After having bought the Timber Ridge Lounge Chair, and having used it for about a week, and having numerous people come by to try it out, I bought a second one for my wife. They are so comfortable and well built. Our lounge chairs are in Florida and sitting around a patio/pool so I have sprayed each piece of joint hardware with an oil based lubricant. I had noticed a small bit of rust building up on the first bought chair but with a little shot of garage door lubricant I’ve seen no more deterioration. If you’re living anywhere around the ocean I think you must do the lubricant or you will have rust. Everything rusts in Florida! Aside from that, these lounge chairs are just the best, most comfortable chairs ever.
I don’t usually write reviews of Amazon purchases, but had to do so on the Timber Ridge Lounge Chair. I had to think hard about spending over a hundred dollars on a chaise lounge but this chair is worth every penny. It came yesterday and I immediately unpacked it and put it in a relatively sunny place next to our small swimming pool. The construction of this chair is excellent. The chair is beautiful but most importantly it is incredibly comfortable. I’ll probably buy another one for my wife so that we have a matching pair. If you’re looking for a high quality, zero gravity chair, buy this one!
I purchase this lounger for our deck down buy our pool. It was super easy to take out of the box and unfold. I love that it has a pillow that adjusts to height. I can use the pillow up at the top but my eight year old son can use it by sliding it down lower. It's a great function to have! It has a nice table that slides underneath when you don't need to use it. But it's also easy to pop out and has a little spot for your cup as well. The chair is super comfortable you can sit up in it or you can lay back in it with ease. All four of us loved this chair and actually want to buy another one now.
I have owned 3 or 4 different Zero Gravity chairs. This one has the BEST with the quality of the fabric. Others over time, not only does the cording on the sides wear (Which is easy to replace.), the fabric around the grommets in the areas that have the most stress, tear out. The Timber Ridge Zero Gravity chair does NOT do this. It is a WONDERFUL Chair.
