I never used the lag hooks, but I did use the clips. Since I was drilling into the side of a 2x6 on the underside of my deck, the hook in this package was way too large and would have compromised the integrity of the wood beam. I purchased much smaller ones at the local hardware store (325lbs) to hang each of the chair hammocks we bought. This is overkill as far as hanging a hammock. I did not read and understand the description as I should have, but this was my first time doing this.
Even though I did not use the complete set, the customer service, follow up, and overall communication of this company is above and beyond which is why I gave this 5 stars. Absolutely wonderful!
I couldn't find what I needed at the local hardware store without breaking the bank ($10-$15 for one eyelet screw that wasn't welded at the loop). Found these here on Amazon and couldn't be happier!! These are super heavy duty eyelets welded at the loop and carabiners. I live in an older apartment built in the 1940's and have hollow walls with plaster, so finding a wall stud was out of the question. So I drilled through the door casings at opposite ends of my bedroom and bingo, solid all the way through. Screwed them in and hung my hammock and it's solid as a rock. So if you're in the need for hardware to hang up a hammock around the house or on the back porch these are what you need at an affordable price. Rock solid product.
I used these in ceiling joists to hang a yoga swing. I haven't fallen on my face yet or ripped out the ceiling so that's nice. You will need a 5/16" drill bit and some long sturdy thin pole to screw it in all the way. And maybe a stud finder.
These are very strong eyebolts. I hung four hammocks on our deck and these are so thick that I am very confident of the hammock hang. My only complaint is with the carabiner - there are some tiny rough spots on the edges of the metal clip when it is open, so must be very careful not to snag the hammock strap threads when I connect or take the hammock down. I will try to smooth those rough places with a metal file to minimize excess wear on the hammock straps.
I am having these hooks professionally installed in the joist of my ceiling for our yoga trapeze. The first hooks I ordered I would never have trusted but these look very heavy duty and dependable! I will update after we use them for a while!

Unlike all other options I found, these have FULLY WELDED loops. These are WAY stronger than they need to be, which is exactly what you want when your backside is on the line. The installation instructions carefully avoid discussing installation in tree trunks (probably to satisfy the lawyers). I put them in two backyard tree trunks and could not be happier. Be sure to disinfect your drill bit and the screws and your tree will accept these just fine. PRO-TIP- Get a nylon daisy chain climbing sling and you will have a lightweight, fully adjustable rig to hang your hammock.
We used these to hang a hammock in our basement living room. Easily supports 2 people's weight if properly installed in studs/joists/beams.
I love the carabiners that are included. They seem very robust. And as many other people have mentioned, the welded eyes on the bolts really bolster the durability and strength.
Going to purchase another set to permanently mount at my cabin.
I bought these to hang gymnastics rings from the studs in the ceiling of my garage. I'm only doing static movements (i.e. rings dips and ring pull ups) on them so I can't say how they're holding up for things like muscle ups, but so far they're rock solid and I don't have any concerns that they'll pull out anytime soon. They've very large and heavy duty, so they give you a lot of confidence that you won't experience equipment failure. I recommend this product.
Used these to hang a pair of hammock chairs (only using one eye per chair). I sunk them in to 4x6 beams in the roof of my porch, and they're obviously not going to go anywhere. I appreciate that the seam on the eye is welded, and the carabiner looks sufficient as well. Instructions included were simple and when I drilled the recommended pilot hole, there was no wood splitting.
This is what you need for your hammock!!!
