This set is really nice, at least compared with what we were using - sticks from the backyard. I'll briefly compare the two so you can decide which you'd prefer sticks (from a tree) or Sumpri (Marshmallow roasting sticks)

I hope this comparison is helpful for you. Many nights I looked up in the sky and wondered if I should keep using the sticks that fall from our big tree... how does the tree feel about that? And what if I'm picked to go to Mars? Do they have tree sticks on Mars? So I decided to try the Sumpri sticks, and I'm glad I did. I'll update this if something changes.

Took these cool little guys camping in Lake Tahoe and they worked VERY WELL. We cooked hot dogs, marshmallows and even sliced up focaccia bread and they worked great. The extend pretty far out so you can sit comfortably back in your seat while still getting that prime charbroiled effect and you can also rotate from the handle. Both of my avid camper friends said that they're going to buy a set off here when they're back home. Good Job!
So I haven't actually used this yet. My boyfriend and I are going camping with some friends in July, and we're planning on having our usual group of 6 people, so the fact that it comes with 6 skewers is perfect. I took the red plastic coverings off and the tips are VERY sharp - PERFECT for sticking kielbasa, cinnamon rolls and of course, MARSHMALLOWS! Also, it does rotate 360, but like i said, i won't know how well they work until i actually use them this summer.
We've owned these sticks for over a month and have used them about 5 times at adult gatherings. It's fun to have friends over around the fire and an easy meal with a few added sides. We've eaten hot dogs more times in one month than we have in a year. They are designed well and just what you need for your roasting pleasure. We've roasted hot dogs and marshmallows on them and have not been disappointed. I love the different colors to distinguish each persons stick. After use, I give a quick wash with the dish wand, dry, put the little red tubes back on the ends, stick them in the bag, and their ready to go for the next time. I'm happy with my purchase!
These were perfect to use during for our trip to the mountains. We used them over the fire both outside in a pit and inside over the stove. They worked amazingly. We roasted marshmallows and they worked perfectly. I was happy to see that they extend pretty far without bending or falling apart, which is great if you have little ones you want to keep away from the flames. I'm also happy to say that they made it through the dishwasher. I highly recommend this product - very sturdy, cute little pouch, protective rubber storage tips, and the colours are as bright the photo. Oh, and the shipping was quick, too.
Love those sticks! We recently started making camp fires with the kids and never had enough wood sticks for everyone. I bought this set based on reviews and they are great. Very easy to clean and extend easily for your needs. The bag they come in is very compact, so great for travel. Everyone has their own color, so we don't take each other's food by accident. Bought these after purchasing a fire pit for the backyard. So far we have only used them for roasting marshmallows, as we have a grill a few feet away for everything else. They work great. I love how they telescope far enough that I can sit all the way back in my adirondack chair and comfortably roast the marshmallows. Also, the fact that you can spin the marshmallows without rotating the whole skewer is pretty convenient too. They are also easy to clean and it's nice that they came with a storage bag. Very happy with this purchase.
I am thoroughly impressed by how well designed and useful these roasting sticks have been. We had no trouble roasting up to four marshmallows per stick [i.e. two per side] as well as one hotdog per stick. The kids were safe from the heat of the campfire as the roasting sticks could be extended up to 34 inches. In addition, the sticks were lightweight. The 360 degree dial is a clever addition to the design. Using one thumb, the food could be rotated accordingly for even cooking.
Once we were done, it was easy to clean the sticks with soap and water i.e. not using a dishwasher because it is not recommended by the manufacturer. The sticks could then be retracted back to 10 inches and stored in the handy fabric bag that comes with the product. Although the tips of the sticks are pretty safe, dull; we keep the red tip covers anyway to cover up the sticks' tips when not in use.
Overall, a 5 star product. I was impressed by the price, quality, and design and would highly recommend these roasting sticks by SUMPRI.
These were purchased as a gift so I won't be the person actually using them. But I did open the package and check them out carefully. The mechanism is as sturdy as this type of item can be. Not unbreakable, but durable. The colors are bright. The sharp ends are big enough for hotdogs over a fire. The travel case will keep them together in the camping box. I know the gift recipient will be thrilled.
Had these for 2 years now. Bought them for a family vacation, camping for the week. One broke on that trip, but the rest have held up really well. We have a fire about once a week all summer long and use these every time for hot dogs, brats, marshmallows. Like that I can store them easily since they collapse. Still giving them 5 stars even though one broke because the other 5 are still going strong and stay extended when you are using them. Last ones I had wouldn't stay pulled out. Would absolutely but these again.
I bought two sets for myself last year and loved them so much I bought two sets to give a "Gift Exchange game" gifts for Christmas this year. They are colorful, so each person at the party can find "their stick" easily. The telescoping feature is smooth and a great distance to stand far away from the fire for safety. They are not recommended for the dishwasher, which made me a little nervous, but I hand washed them in the sink and clean up was truly a breeze. Sticky Marshmallow from the night before came right off. There is a little chance of food getting caught up when you push it back down from the telescoped position, so I highly recommend cleaning them from the bottom up, and paying close attention to the "ring" where it goes back in!
